Description
A compact nixie clock for your desk
Four IN-14 nixie tubes show hours and minutes in warm orange 18 mm digits, set off by double neon colon lamps. Behind the vintage look sits a modern, fully programmable controller, assembled and tested by hand in Paris.
Display and effects
- 4 × IN-14 nixie tubes (new old stock), 18 mm digits
- Double-dot neon colon lamps with several modes, including AM/PM indication
- Programmable RGB backlight under the tubes: choose your colour
- Fade, crossfade and scrollback transitions between digits
- Optional leading-zero blanking (9:45 instead of 09:45)
Timekeeping
- Quartz crystal oscillator for accurate time, independent of mains frequency: works anywhere in the world
- 12 or 24-hour display
- Dedicated daylight saving time button: one press when the clocks change
- Seconds reset to zero for precise manual setting
- Optional GPS or WiFi time sync, with a status LED showing the sync state
- Supercapacitor backup keeps time through short power cuts; all settings are stored in non-volatile memory
Built to last
- Night mode: dims or switches off the display at night, to save the tubes and avoid disturbing your sleep. The colon lamps have their own night settings.
- “Slot machine” routine that regularly cycles every digit to prevent cathode poisoning and keep the tubes healthy
